QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • I want to stain concrete with increte stone essence. What sealer can I use with low voc?

What finish are you looking for?  Gloss, or matte?

  • Which Ghost product produces a low sheen or semi-gloss without becoming slippery?

Look at 8500, 8505, 8510.  Sounds like you don't want a surface sealer, but give us a call and we can get in to specifics

  • Sirs, This product can be used in outdoors floors especially like coralline rock tiles.? If not, what is your best product for this floors. Thanks

This product reacts with concrete, so not a good solution for rock tiles.  You can try a surface sealer such as Super Diamond Clear.

  • Does the 9500 come on any colors? Or any way you can add a dye?

9600 is a penetrating type sealer so it is not able to be dyed.  Check out the 5505 or any of the other acrylic type sealers for a colored option!

  • After applying 9500 sealer to my 30 day old concrete patio.... may I apply masonary paint?

Yes, as long as it is oil or enamel based.

  • Can a water-base stain be added to Ghostshield 9500, to help even out the color differences of old crack repairs? The driveway is 30+ yrs. old and is in solid condition now.

9500 is a waterproofer and densifier, which would not lend itself to a water based stain as it would most likely not penetrate with the sealer.

  • Can polypropylene be added to this sealer to provide a non-slip concrete for a shower floor? If so, what particle size would be recommended?

Lithi-Tek 9500 is a penetrating sealer, so you are not able to add a product to provide grip to the surface, however it also doesnt add a slick finish to the surface.  We do have some reccomendations, however would need to know a little more about your shower.  So if you would like to give us a call at 888-391-2227 or email us at sales@concreteandcurbingsource.com we would be happy to help you with a solution!

  • Can Ghostshield 8500 or 9500 be used patio concrete already sealed with such as https://moondecorative.com/product/ss-supreme-2500-med-gloss-pure-acrylic-25-solid-2/ ? This is over two layers of https://www.acehardware.com/departments/building-supplies/concrete-cement-and-masonry/ready-mix-concrete/1201938?store=11878&nis=6. First meant to put a penetrator thought the sealer was and discovered it really is not a penetrator I believe.

Without removing the existing sealer, the penetrating sealer wont be able to get to the concrete to seal it.

  • Does it stop chalking

    Yes,  it can prevent effloresence

  • Will this product work on existing repaired cracks?

How were the cracks repaired? Chances are we'll be fine but the product used does matter.

  • What is the best semi-gloss product for exterior concrete top coat over Lithitek 9500?

Being a penetrating sealer, the 9500 typically won't let a surface sealer adhere to the concrete to allow for a different finish.

  • Can this product ,lithi-tech 9500 be used for sealing underground concrete basement wall, new construction? With the normal black tarlike foundation coatings as second coating?

Yes you can,  assuming it is poured not block
